## The penalties

Ley 7/2022 sets the sanctions regime. These are the statutory maxima, not typical outcomes.

- up to €3,500,000 — Very serious infringements under Ley 7/2022, including placing products on the market without the required registration.
- up to €900,000 — Serious infringements, including failure to declare or to join a scheme.
- up to €45,000 — Minor infringements, including formal and documentary failures.
